The DLB (dear little blog) is in need of some revival.  Due to several things (tiredness, new language, busy toddler, fried brain, not remembering English words), I’ve been having difficulty putting coherent sentences together in writing recently.  I’ve had plenty of ideas and starter sentences throughout the day — “Oh, wouldn’t that make a grand blog post?” — but they’ve amounted to nil.  The DLB has suffered.  (Have you suffered, too, dear little readers?  I won’t be sad if you haven’t.)

So I’m going to start a little photo project.  A summer photo project, for the rest of this month and next.  Summer is quite different in Japan — hot weather, but school is still in session and there isn’t the propensity toward long holidays, BBQs, and water fun that there is in America.  I’m missing it, so I think it would be good for me to look for the fun things about summer in Japan.  And give my brain a break — posting about a picture is a little easier than trying to describe all thats happening in my heart and life on the other side of the world (especially when I can’t really remember the words for it).

Join me, if you so desire, or just enjoy the pics that come forth.  I’m not promising a daily thing here, just a little rejuvenation. 🙂

  1. Good to see you back. Jeff was just commenting last night that you need to update 🙂 Photo project? Look forward to seeing the pictures of summer in Japan! I might join in… We’ll have to see how inspired I am.

  2. I totally know what you mean, fried brain and all. That’s why I resort to posting pics! Much love to you today, my dear Jamie!

  3. Yay! I’ve been missing you (and your posts!) We FINALLY have internet at home, so I’ve bookmarked your DLB….I can’t wait to see the pics! I’ve added pics this summer to my facebook page….you’ll have to check them out. Grady is getting so big! I came home yesterday to Pat and Grady in their ‘running’ stances, like at the start of a track race. Pat said “on your marks” (Grady was squating with his hands on the floor) “Set” (grady put his little butt in the air) “Go” and they ran all over the house! Too cute!
    Love you!

Just wanted to let you know we miss you. I look to the blog for updates and to remind me how to pray for the three of you. As I walk down town or around the University, I occassionally see someone from behind that looks like either one of you…

Miss you. Love your posts Jamie,
    God Bless,
    David (and Claudia)
